Dangerous surface

This bridleway has been reported lots of times over the last few years. Previously the land owner hasn't agreed to correct the issue and tennent farmers have continued to use the bridleway for their vehicles. The ruts are now ridiculously deep and a fall hazard to horses. We have tried to ride off the bridleway where possible to avoid the hazard but this is not always possible to due permanent and temporary fencing. The ruts really need to be filled in with some gravel. With this section of the bridleway so damaged, it cuts off our access to other bridleways and forces us to use busy roads.

This report has now been passed to the Highways team for assessment.
If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the issue will be provided.
