Damage to playing fields (joyriders?)

Reported via iOS in the Playing Fields category anonymously at 20:15, Tuesday 17 March 2026

Sent to Hull City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9126214.

It seems that someone has taken a vehicle onto the field, churned up much of the grass with deep tracks, and run down council signs that were on there. The fields both sides of the path, are a dangerous mess. There are also metal fence panels thrown on there, not sure where they have come from. It has been this way for about 2 weeks.

This happened once previously, at the top of the field. It was never rectified and now, it’s dangerous to walk on as the grass covers the deep ruts, perhaps 8 inches deep in places, and you run the risk of twisted ankles or worse.

It seems the area needs some of those thick wooden posts, like the ones along Sutton Road, to prevent access onto the field.

  • Some things have been moved as they’ve needed to mow the field, but nothing has been done about the deep gouges all over the field and these have now been overgrown with grass. It’s a dangerous surface to walk on.
