Vehicles abandoned in turning area

Reported in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 11:57, Fri 14 October 2016

Sent to Newport Council 3 minutes later

Eastfield Drive is a small development, on a narrow public road with a turning point at the end of it. One of the 10 houses, consistently uses the turning point as a parking space for their own and visitors vehicles despite the fact that they can fit three cars on their own driveway. The ble car hasn't been moved since the beginning of September. Delivery, refuse and recycling lorries cannot turn in the turning point and consequently are leaving Eastfield Drive in reverse gear so it really does need to be kept clear. Most importantly emergency vehicles cannot turn - we have had instances where neighbours have had to be taken to hospital by ambulance, so it does happen! Smaller delivery vehicles are using private driveways to turn which has resulted in damage to walls and cars parked legally on the driveways. The owners of the cars have been asked not to park in the turning area but continue to do so, on one occaision going abroad for two weeks leavig BOTH their cars in the turning area whilst their driveway remained empty. Building deliveries to another property had to be postponed due to the blocking access. Please put double yellow lines down or some other method to stop this thoughtless parking/abandoning of vehicles

  • The blue car STILL hasn't moved, and it is still impossible for vehicles who end up in this poorly signed cul-de-sac to turn around in order to leave the road in a forward gear. there needs to be double yellow lines painted
