Waste Bins and Rats Near Residential Entrance

Reported via mobile in the Public Right of Way footpath category anonymously at 16:44, Friday 13 March 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9102971.

Am writing to make a complaint regarding a serious issue outside our residential building.

Next to the entrance gate of our residential flats, there is a pub that keeps its rubbish and food waste bins directly beside the entrance used by residents. Unfortunately, these bins are often not placed properly and are frequently left overflowing or positioned in a way that blocks or restricts access to the gate.

Because of the large amount of food waste and the way the bins are left outside, there has been a growing problem with rats around the entrance area. This creates an unpleasant environment and raises serious concerns about hygiene, health, and safety for residents who need to enter and leave the building every day.

We would like the council to investigate this issue and ensure that the pub manages its waste properly. The bins should be stored in an appropriate place and handled in a way that prevents vermin and keeps the entrance clear for residents.

I would appreciate it if this matter could be looked into as soon as possible.

Thank you for your attention.
