Damaged paving slabs outside Garden Machines

Reported via desktop in the Slabs - Uneven / Damaged / Cracked category anonymously at 20:36, Wednesday 11 March 2026

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9090331.

This relates to the longstanding defect of the sunken paving slabs outside Garden Machines. https://www.fixmystreet.com/ report/ 8191708

In the last posting before the above log was closed, you state “we will continue to monitor the area to ensure it remains safe”.

The attached photos were taken during a recent cold snap. The standing water froze. Anyone walking here risked a fall. For people of a certain age, that could have been a death sentence. Or they decide it’s far too dangerous and stay at home.

There’s another cold snap forecast this weekend. What will be done to make sure the pavement is safe, in accordance with P06 (below) of the local transport plan?

P06G: Ensure proactive maintenance and gritting regimes for helping ensure active travel routes are safe in all weather conditions and seasons, whilst facilitating independent monitoring (for example, by recognised community interest groups) to enable repairs and gritting.

How about just fix this long standing defect.
