A zebra crossing is urgently needed outside of Aureus Primary school to allow children and adults to cross the Clover Fields road safely to and from the school.
Although it is a slow speed limit, every day it is dangerous. I’ve had three occasions where despite my vigilance in trying to cross safely with my children, cars have acted unexpectedly (whilst trying to park) and my children have almost been hurt. In addition, people park across the dropped curb every day making there actually no safe place to even try to cross. This is a real issue which has been going on for years and is only getting worse each year as more parents are moving out of the estate and driving their children to school.
A zebra crossing would signal for people to give priority to let people cross and not park actually on the crossing. It takes minimal resources to do this, and could be completed within a week if marked urgent, but would make a big difference.
A zebra crossing on Dimond drive between the bus stop and junction of Clover Fields would also be very beneficial to the local community and people walking their children to school.
Please escalate this and paint a zebra crossing on Clover Fields Road, opposite Aureus Primary school before someone gets hit by a car and seriously injured.
