Speeding traffic day and night
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 22:16, Wed 5 October 2016
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 907984.
Our garden backs onto Butland Road. Day and night, cars constantly speed up and down this road between harpers brook roundabout & lyveden way roundabout. The noise is deafening and its getting worse. I assume its 30mph as its a residential street but vehicles speed up and down here throughout the day and its worse at night. There are numerous junctions/people crossing over (as no proper zebra crossing) and it won't be long before there is an accident if traffic calming measures are not installed. There are loads of road humps in many other parts of Corby so why not here please?

Still nothing done, cars still speeding. There isn't even 1 speed sign up anywhere. One idiot the other night must have been doing 90mph, up and down 3 times. Its the only straight bit of road on the whole estate, and we have watched people turn out of the shops, and just floor it down to the roundabout by Morrisons doing 60 plus. What is it going to take to get something done about this - a death perhaps? Can road humps/traffic calming please be installed, like on other parts of Oakley Vale?

A digi speed sign has been installed over the weekend, which seems to make some people slow down, although its only on 1 side. BUT, at night, the idiots come out in force and try and see who can get the highest speed recorded. Between 8.30 and 11pm last night, there must have been 50+ cars doing well over 60mph along there. The only way to stop this madness is full width road humps. Us residents shouldn't have to put up with this constant noise. MP is the next step as nothing is being done to address this problem

The digi speed sign has been up barely a week and now it's not working. I'm not surprised as the amount of cars that set it off when we walk by every night presumably have flattened the battery! This just proves how many people speed down this road. This weekend has been horrendous - people seem to think when it was working, to see how fast they could get it up to. We know this for a fact as we walked along with our dog and watched them doing it. So as of tomorrow, Monday 17th, the children will still be going to school along the race track.
