Uneven and bowed surface area causing large standing water areas from rainfall

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 10:33, Thursday 5 March 2026

Sent to Newport Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9050304.

The pavement surface at this location is severely uneven and bowed, leading to two critical issues: Standing Water: During rainfall, the depression in the pavement causes large, deep puddles to collect. As this is a busy thoroughfare for the public, it creates a significant hazard and inconvenience for local residents and pedestrians. Property Damage: The water pools directly against the side of the building, resulting in water ingress and dampness within our basement.

  • I always find it interesting that when there is an election, all of the local political figures are campaigning to get your vote but once they have it, they are no longer visible. Things that you need them to pay attention to are left unresolved or ignored. I have no faith in this particular issue being dealt with and suspect it will be ignored.
