School has just started a new term. The number of cars coming into William Morris Close is ridiculous! They are parked on the pavements, one was parked across the back of my car. When the driver moved it he parked in front of no 55 so his wife and child could get in .Because the children have to be put into a child seat and buckled up they are often parked for 5-10 minutes.Because the cars are parked on the pavement the mums and children walk play in the road.
This an accident waiting to happen. There were cars parked all down Barracks Lane, they now also park in the parking spaces of the flats of Beresfield Place of Crescent rd.Often the children walking on Barracks Lane are not holding hands with the adult and often run around. Again accidents waiting to happen.
It took me over 3 changes of the traffic lights to get onto Hollow Way. I think the time has come to get Highways to come and remind the School of the planning rules regarding cars.

I am very disappointed that last November (2015) I approached Tyndale school at the top of Barracks Lane, several times about my concern over traffic and children's welfare and safety. There are no markings to indicate it is a school. There are no restricted markings for parking. There are no zig zag lines to enforce safer driving to the entrance of the school. I attended 3 school meetings with the HeadTeacher and governors who wrote to the Highways Division and still, a whole year later, NOTHING has been done. Every week without fail someone comes off there bike. This week we had three people in one morning. The darker and frosty mornings Results in more cars being used. The traffic is at a stand still, the turning bay at the bottom of the road is dangerous as car drivers are not aware of the cyclists and vice verse. There is going to be a fatality! We have called the paramedics out on so many occasions now, I feel we need one on stand by for this road alone. Please please please will you make this road safer by supplying us with clear road markings especially for the school. Children are at risk! It is becoming a daily nightmare!
