Car parking issues and destroyed verges

Reported via desktop in the Verges - Damaged by Vehicles category by Jack Fletcher at 13:11, Friday 27 February 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9011878.

Good Afternoon, The grass verges either side of the mid section of Norton Road have been increasingly cut up with vehicles parking on them. It's always been a problem in the 3 years I've lived here but has become increasingly hazardous this winter. Cars parking on the verges I guess will always be a requirement with parking being an issue throughout the road which is ok but cars are getting stuck and with recent rainfall it's becoming a hazard as well as dragging mud onto the road causing further slip hazards for both pedestrians and motor vehicles. Is it possible to review the viability of converting the grass verges to tarmac or other sustainable materials? Grass just doesn't work with the car parking on the sides of the road. Please let me know if you require any further details look forward to hear your thoughts.
