Hi ive Just seen your post regarding the new crossing at Marlborough lane. Looks perfect on a busy road with blind spots and traffic coming from 4 directions. Can I please give my opinion in the upper crossing going up Lansdown Rd. By the kingswood school. Im a local resident and a tradesman using all the roads around the city in daylight and darkness. Whilst travelling home from Camden Crescent where I was working, I was going up Lansdown lane around 5ish, was dark at the time. The upper crossing has been placed in a poor position, the crossing is directly inline with the gap in the hedge leading to the school. A young lad dressed in dark clothing came straight through the hedge and proceeded to assume he had immediate access to the crossing without assessing the traffic slowing or stopping. It certainly caught me out in poor lighting/rain. The better option would to have put the crossing atleast 3 or 4 meteres down the road so A. They would then be looking directly at the oncoming traffic before they step out. B. This would give motorists time to see them before they attempt to cross. Regards Scott Neil
