Christmas Trees

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 14:17, Thu 21 January 2010

Sent to Canterbury City Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 89905.

All round Canterbury there are Christmas trees waiting to be collected - ours have been out a week. A puzzled American has asked about all the dead fir trees on the streets of the city. When will they be picked up? Will Serco follow ones that have blown into the wrong places?

Updates

  • Garden recycling was suspended during the bad weather,so that resources could be used to clear the backlog of domestic and recycling. The garden collections resumed on Monday 25 January 2010 as per issued calendars and hopefully all stray christmas trees will be collected.

  • There are still two trees left in the square - they had blown away from the edge of the road so were not collected on the second attempt. I pulled them to the side of the road for last week's collection, but there are still there.

  • After a phone call direct to Serco the remaining trees were picked up today, sending a collector pretty quickly once I had phoned.
