Blind spot

Reported via iOS in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 21:50, Saturday 21 February 2026

Sent to Richmond upon Thames Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8970948.

This location presents a blind spot when crossing the service road leading to the leisure centre. Extra vigilance is required, particularly when accompanying children or using buggies. Drivers approaching from around the bend, often at speed, may not see pedestrians emerging from behind the hedge on the right-hand side.

The restricted visibility creates a significant risk of collision between vehicles and vulnerable road users. Consideration could be given to measures such as raising the pavement to create a continuous footway, reducing or redesigning the hedge to improve sightlines, or installing additional traffic control measures to mitigate the risk.

Pedestrian right of way is frequently not respected at this location.
