Flow of surface rain water into the cellar at 11 Park Street

Reported via desktop in the Property Flooding category anonymously at 10:59, Friday 20 February 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8961026.

Previously dry cellar has suffered a constant flow of water at base of cellar wall for 6+ months. Thames Water engaged, confirming two separate leaks. The piping connecting mains to our house supply and our neighbour's were faulty. Fixing this reduced the flow into the cellar at 11 Park Street significantly, but did not provide a permanent fix. Thames Water advised any leak from their pipes should dry up within a fortnight. 6 weeks on, the flow continues. Latest lab test results received this week (we can share analysis) indicates the residual flow is rain water. Houses left and right have not suffered this issue. Given there have been three simultaneous leaks within a few meters of each other we suspect it could have arisen from the road resurfacing work carried out fairly recently.

  • Please can you advise what progress has been made in the last month? Water is continuing to cause damage to our house. Please can you advise when the road resurfacing work was carried out and whether it is likely it is the cause of the issue?
