Carriageway Damage Due to Runoff and Heavy Vehicles

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 08:07, Friday 20 February 2026

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8959983.

The road surface on Crockford Lane at this location is severely deteriorating, with significant cracking and surface failure.

This appears to be caused by persistent surface water runoff from the adjacent commercial warehouse site during periods of rainfall. Large volumes of water flow onto the carriageway, which, combined with frequent use by heavy articulated lorries and construction vehicles, is accelerating the damage. The road is also heavily used as a through-route, further increasing wear.

This ongoing situation is leading to rapid degradation of the highway surface and requires investigation.
