Potential High Voltage Danger on Pavement Path

Reported via desktop anonymously at 18:13, Thursday 19 February 2026

Sent to Liverpool City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8957989.

This Box on the corner of Oakhill Road Queens Drive end has a big hole at the bottom of it with an exposed cable or pipe. Has a warning Danger 230 Volts triangle on it, needs looking at. Also a black bag of dumped clothing next to it. Unsure as to what this actual Box is for, can somebody clarify, Thanks.

Updates

  • Email received from Council 1st March:- Regarding the damaged electric box, I have managed to find the below information:

Dangerous, damaged, or open 230-volt electric boxes (often called pillar boxes, street cabinets, or service pillars) on public roads are primarily the responsibility of your local Distribution Network Operator (DNO). If you see a dangerous, damaged, or open box, do not touch it and immediately call the national emergency number: 105 You can also report an issue on line by visiting our website: https://liverpool.gov.uk/ parking-roads-and-travel/ report-an-issue/ .

Incorrect information given to ring 105, after 105 and Scottish Power said it's not their box and being told it's a Fibre Optic box. Spoke to Openreach who said it's not theirs and is Virgin so informed them this afternoon.
