Raised manhole still causing issues due to increased traffic

Reported via desktop in the Manhole category anonymously at 11:24, Wednesday 18 February 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8946290.

Hi,

I reported this in Feb 20204 - fix my street ref 5607702.

There are still numerous occasions of people catching the underneath of vehicles on this manhole. The traffic on this street has increased due to the number of cars used by visitors to the mosque at the old chapel. Due to the street being essentially one lane because of residents parking, drivers are sometimes driving up on to verges and pavements to allow others past etc. Verges are being churned up by this and people are not aware of the height of the raised manhole, causing grounding and damage to vehicles as they pass over it. It would be good if this could be lowered to ground level to avoid these incidents in the future. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks
