Road surface failed

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 22:55, Friday 13 February 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8915563.

The entire surface outside 257/261 has failed. The remaining islands of concrete lift and tilt when cars drive over them and need to be stomped on regularly to put them back down. One particular ledge is 6inches deep. This has continued to deteriorate over the past enquiries years, particularly due to a Thames Water leak unresolved for a year. Access to the driveways is barely possible in the car, tyres spin and struggle to get purchase.

Council ref: ENQ261084307

  • I have taken some pictures and reported some of the potholes and will be asking a question of the Highways team as the Main Warwick Road is scheduled to have resurfacing work in 2026

And have requested that the inner road is added to the list .

  • Thanks Cllr Cherry. I emailed Tim Belton and Oxfordshire Highways ahead of their pre-dressing visit but haven't received a reply (yet).

  • The remaining concrete chunks are now loose and wobble about, and there's no subbase left as it's been worn away. With upcoming Highways works at the start of May please could this small section be added to the works list?
