Orange barriers left after works.

Reported via desktop in the Parks and landscapes category anonymously at 16:03, Thursday 12 February 2026

Sent to Runnymede Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8904649.

Works carried out about 2 months ago to install a tall communications pole. The orange barriers are still there and the grass verge which was dug up has been left in a mess (as in the photo). Also there are several sand bags left in a pile near to the large green control box which is at the foot of the pole.

Updates

  • In addition the 'spoil' that was dug up has been put inside the red barriers and has not been taken away.

  • I have since reported this problem to Surrey County Council and they have immediately contacted the Contractor concerned to advise that the rubble etc should be removed asap.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Surrey County Council have been contacted again, they advised that the Contractor has been served with a Fixed Penalty Notice but as of today, 8th May 2026, the Contractor has not yet dealt with removal of the barriers and the debris.
