Large pothole

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 10:39, Thursday 12 February 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8900930.

A large pothole has appeared again at this location, with large chunks of concrete coming away. This is a difficult pothole to avoid due to the narrowing of the highway by cycling wands. A reoccurring issue that needs a better repair..

Council ref: ENQ261083711

  • This is getting worse by the day. Large chunks of concrete are loose and being flung onto the road and pavement, with the hole having sharp and deep edges now. The only way to avoid it is to veer onto the cycle path and narrowly miss cycling barriers. Very hazardous.

  • This pot hole is getting significantly worse every day. When it is filled with water it is not possible to fall how deep it is. This could cause serious damage to a car, but is also spraying tarmac could cause damage to pedestrians and cyclists

  • The hole is getting very deep. It has not been fixed. Cars need to sway to left with the risk of going into the the cycle line. Please, fix this promptly before someone gets hurt.

  • Witnessed a car almost crash into a cyclist in the bikelane to avoid this pothole. This is outrageous negligence from the council.

  • Have put in a claim for my tyre ......the council will try to dodge culpability no doubt but i will take it all the way......they should at least fence it off or put cones down as a warning....a cyclist will be killed soon i fear.
