Between Monkey Puzzle Nursery and roundabout is full of potholes
Reported via iOS in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 08:47, Thursday 12 February 2026
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8899680.
In this area, some potholes have been filled, some haven't, but new ones have appeared, sometimes don't know how to drive so that you don't always run into potholes, especially when it rains, you have no way of knowing where they are if you don't drive this road daily.

Investigation: Completed (Highways to Monitor, Routine Inspection Programme), Defect Repair: Not Started - Thank you for your enquiry. We are aware of the issues on this road and have identified it as a potential candidate for a future resurfacing scheme.
Due to the road’s proximity to the A45 and surrounding businesses and facilities, carrying out permanent repairs is challenging, as this would require a full road closure. A closure of this nature is complicated further by the weight restriction on the bridge near Cogenhoe. We will continue to ensure the road remains safe by completing permanent repairs where possible. Where permanent repairs cannot be undertaken, we will carry out semi-permanent work and continue to monitor the condition of the roadFor more information about our services, please visit https://www.westnorthants.gov.uk/ parking-roads-and-transport

I am extremely disappointed with the so-called “repairs” that were recently carried out on this road. Only 5 or 6 potholes were filled, while the rest of the street remains full of smaller and larger holes. This is not a proper repair, it is a superficial patch-up that completely ignores the real condition of the road.
Just today, I took over 20 photos showing the poor state of this section of the street. Unfortunately, I can only upload three, which does not fully reflect how bad the situation actually is. When potholes are literally next to each other, how can it be acceptable to fix only a few of the deepest ones and leave the rest untouched?
This entire stretch of road needs proper resurfacing, from Monkey Puzzle Nursery all the way to the roundabout, including part of the roundabout itself. What has been done so far is not real maintenance; it feels like a mockery of the residents who use this road daily. Even the few potholes that were “repaired” were not filled properly.
We pay a significant amount in road tax, yet the standards of maintenance are completely unacceptable. This road is unsafe, damaging to vehicles, and shows a lack of respect for the community. I expect proper action to be taken, not temporary and ineffective fixes.

This road is becoming a daily hazard due to the large number of potholes and how difficult it is to even attempt to dodge them. The newly developed holiday park at Billing is bringing a massive amount of revenue into the county and frankly its a disgrace that as a holiday maker who has chosen to visit the area, this is the main road you have to go down. Of course this has bought extra traffic but this road has been an issue for years! You state in previous reports about the number of businesses and the weight limit on the Cogenhoe bridge but surely this road could be completed in sections using a traffic light system or even carrying out an evening or over night closure which would surely negate the need for large HGV's etc to be in the area. This appears to be a way to get out of fixing a road using weak excuses. Some one is going to get seriously hurt down this road soon.

Honestly, this is getting beyond a joke, this needs a full resurface now, God knows what’s going to happen when the new industrial estate is started. All the businesses and residents in the area have had enough, surely the fact that someone recently graffitied a protest in the road and the vast amount of complaints posted you must see feelings are high for issue. Maybe a call to the papers or local councils is needed
