Deep pothole in centre of road poses a safety hazard

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category by Clive Rose at 13:37, Monday 9 February 2026

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8875331.

Hampshire County Council declare this does "not meet safety criteria which are aligned with National Guidelines". In recent wet conditions this 50mm deep hole is filled with rainwater and constitutes a very real danger to 2-wheeled road users who are expecting only a puddle. You can see from the wider photo the hole is adjacent to a poorly patched repair which has clearly worn out at one end. The hole is in front of the entrance to Basing House Barn. It needs to be properly repaired to assure the safety of road users.
