Pothole/sunken surface shaking buildings

Reported via iOS in the Roads/Highways category anonymously at 16:21, Sunday 8 February 2026

Sent to Lewisham Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8868066.

When buses and large vehicles drive over a dips in the road surface, which has been caused by substrate being washed away, it causes the flats and shops alongside to shake with a thud, affecting residents’ sleep. There are other similar faults in the road surface nearby - mainly in the parts that have been cobbled.

  • Lewisham Highways kept telling me that this is being dealt with, but months later nothing has happened. There are several of these tiled panels along the road and they’ve all sunk. Hopefully the council can get the original contractors back to fix their substandard work.
