Investigating
Road Collapsing
Reported via iOS in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 18:39, Saturday 7 February 2026
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8862358.
So you’re aware, the road outside 30 Wellington Street in Thame looks to be collapsing along the line of the sewer. A trench has formed that causes a bump when cars travel over it. It’s about 40-50cm wide and about 2m long. It begins at the site of the sinkhole that you filled in. It looks to be a Thames Water issue continuing the issues at the location. Thames Water have been phoned and will attend.

Having driven over this tonight, it appears that this has sunk further from the picture above. I would suggest this need looking at fairly urgently incase there is little below it.

This is getting worse and could cause a serious accident if it fails when somebody is driving over it.
Can we have an update as to what is happening as this needs to be fixed soonest.

Ths sunken area contunues to sink further on a daily basis. There is now a big 'thump' of the suspension and a roller-coaster ride every time you cross the thing.
Is anyone going to do something before a cyclist at least gets severely injured?

The road is now being to sink at the centre line of the road, where the zig zags are for the zebra crossing, on the same side of the zebra crossing as this depression. It looks like it’s not just this area. McAllister were UV-lining the sewer here 6-7th Feb, the day before this all started sinking.

The patch is now sinking and the centre line of the road has formed a shallow trench. There also looks to be a new void developing on the other side of the zebra crossing. This started developing immediately after Thames Water line the pipe. Could they have messed it up and water be travelling externally to the pipe?
