Constant problem from pigeons

Reported via mobile anonymously at 13:55, Friday 6 February 2026

Sent to Hull City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8853879.

Under this rail way bridge is a constant, ongoing problem. I have been reporting this for the last 15 years! It is constantly full of pigeon droppings. The council come and clean the area, and then within 3 days it is a mess again. This problem needs sorting out, once and for all. Residents are fed up of walking through pigeon droppings, people with prams and children, walking through all this mess. As you will know, pigeon droppings are not good for the health of humans. It is time something was done to prevent this, it has been going on too long. Spikes were put up, they didn't work. I was told by the MP I wrote to, that they will not put netting up, as the pigeons could become stuck. So on that note, something else needs doing to prevent all this. Please look into other options, possibly electronic devices, that give off a sound, that will prevent the pigeons going under the bridge, or a metal sheet to prevent the droppings from being all over the pavement. It only needs something in the area above the pavements, the road is not a problem, as there doesn't seem to be droppings on the road. Thank you.
