Both sides of Greenway are deteriorating terribly

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 15:24, Thursday 5 February 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8846779.

After being notified that the issues have been fixed I took a walk down Greenway.

Not a single pothole has been filled in at all down Greenway. Stating that this issue has been fixed is unacceptable and needs further and urgent repair.

I therefore repeat the below again.

I am writing to formally request urgent inspection and repair works to the single track road, Greenway.

Both sides of the single carriageway are in a severely deteriorated condition, with deep, crater-like potholes running along the edges of the road. All of these defects measure in excess of 40 mm in depth and over 150 mm in diameter, exceeding standard intervention thresholds and requiring immediate action.

At the end of 2025, frequent use of Greenway by heavy tankers travelling to and from the pump house has significantly accelerated the deterioration of the road surface. As a result, the current condition now poses a serious safety risk to pedestrians, cyclists, and children who regularly use this route. In addition, the defects present a high risk of damage to vehicle tyres and suspension systems, which may lead to claims being raised against the council.

To ensure any remedial works are durable and to prevent further deterioration caused by freeze–thaw cycles, I strongly recommend that an oil-based sealant is applied around the edges of the filled areas. This would reduce water ingress and significantly extend the lifespan of the repair.

I would appreciate it if the council could inspect and address this issue as a matter of urgency, given the safety implications and the ongoing risk of further damage.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response
