Parked cars on each corner of Lyefield Rd East and School Rd

Reported via desktop in the Line issue (Parking) category by Michael Wilde at 12:07, Monday 2 February 2026

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8820038.

Due to the London Rd closure and now the top end of Copt Elm Rd closure due to Severn Trent's massive hole excavation; traffic is now being redirected down School Rd and turning in to Lyefield Rd East. Because of parked cars on each corner of this road larger vehicles such as lorries, vans and yesterday a coach, cannot negotiate the corner. As a consequence drivers are leaving their vehicles to knock on doors to find the owners to ask them to move. This is happening every day resulting in long queues of traffic building up. There is an infants school and a Playgroup/Nursery both opening on to Lyefield Rd East and School Rd. Lots of little children and frustrated motorists are likely to result in a terrible accident. Double yellow lines on each corner would ease this problem immediately. My MP Max Wilkinson has said he will lend his voice to this urgent request.
