Since the original report the road had deteriorated dramatically causing vehicles both sides of the road to cross into oncoming traffic or stopping completely to avoid damage to their own vehicles.

It's what a person would call a unprofessional temporary patch job as tarmac has been placed over the holes without any seam sealing, this 3 mile stretch of London Road from widley to Waterlooville is notorious for the same potholes repeatedly reappearing, each time getting bigger.
