Dangerous crossing

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights & crossings problems with buttons, beep or lamps category anonymously at 09:35, Friday 30 January 2026

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8799954.

In periods of bad light or darkness, when either driving up from or down towards the Tesco roudabout , there is a small hill brow where you are fairly dazzled by oncoming car headlights as they are in a raised position-due to the hill brow. And on that hill-brow, there is the new style pedestrian crossing that silhouettes rather than illuminates waiting pedestrians. They have been there for some time now, but each time I pass them in the dark I always find it difficult to pick out pedestrians. On numerous occasions I have seen cars (myself included) pass pedestrians who are crossing and its purely because they cannot see the pedestrian, due to its position and lack of illumination. For safety, surely either move it further down( or away) from this brow, or install a proper Pelican crossing.
