Double pothole on A420
Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 15:27, Thursday 29 January 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8796132.
These 2 potholes are on the A420 carriageway heading towards Swindon, just by the sign indicating 5 miles to Swindon. They have been here for months but have recently deteriorated to the point they are now impossible to miss given there’s one on the left hand side of the lane and one on the right hand side of the lane. Really need fixing soon before they cause an accident, particularly as they’re not easy to spot at night.

These potholes are really hard to avoid as the lane is narrowed by them. All along the road heading west from the Bourton turn onto A420 to Acorn Bridge is in a very bad and dangerous condition, especially in the dark and when filled with rainwater. Accident/damage to vehicles waiting to happen!!

Road is terrible. Alarming to drive along as potholes are getting bigger and hard to avoid. Despite reporting this previously I haven’t received any response.

Providing an updated photo of these potholes today. They have significantly deteriorated since I reported them just over a week ago, and impossible to avoid hitting. Please fix them soon as I worry they’re going to cause an accident.

These are beginning to get unpassable. They will soon become one big hole across that side of the carriageway. The A420 is littered with dangerous Potholes and nothing is being done about them.
