Missing bus stop

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8794742.

The Woodgreen Hill Church bus stop heading into Witney has gone missing and in the dark sometimes the Bus driver cannot see people waiting because of parked cars, so you have to jump out in the road which is very dangerous. I have seen a mark where a bus stop may have been and one of these parked car drivers may have knocked it down! Can you please replace it so the Bus Drivers can see passengers waiting and pick them up and create an area to stop so much bad parking too so the bus can stop easily.

  • The bus driver nearly missed the stop completely at 3pm yesterday even though two passengers were waiting to get off the bus, he managed to stop down the road, and this was in daylight!!

  • OCC have advised that as the current bus stop pole is considerably out of date and the flag (sign) is on a lamp column they will look to replace it with a new pole, timetable case, and flag. This would be completed within a wider programme of similar works currently being programmed. Which is indicated to be within the next 2-3 months.

  • It seems blatantly obvious OCC have not even looked at this as their comment "OCC have advised that as the current bus stop pole is considerably out of date and the flag (sign) is on a lamp column" because BOTH the lamp post AND Bus stop are MISSING, there is no lamp post with a Bus stop sign heading TOWARDS Witney, but heading OUT of Witney there is a Bus stop AND a sign on the lamp post!!

  • Please accept my apologies we (witney Town Council) misread the original message and chased OCC on the basis of the issues (previously reports and unresolved) with the stop leaving Witney. We will follow up with them regarding the missing infrastructure into Witney.
