Black slipping hazard on 3 ramps

Reported via iOS in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 11:27, Wednesday 28 January 2026

Sent to Richmond upon Thames Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8785685.

The 3 Teddington lock bridge ramps weren’t gritted last night. It is very dangerous - like an ice rink. I saw a lady slip and smack the back of her head. This was at 9:30am and the ice was still really bad. I gritted it myself - but this needs a proper solution. The council needs to change their risk assessment as the the bridge ramps stay frozen even if the temperature elsewhere isn’t freezing. The main bridge across the thames is not frozen. It’s the 3 ramps - one on the Ham side, 1 on the island, and 1 on the teddington side next to the Anglers pub garden.
