Sheep St, Burford

Reported via iOS in the Pothole category anonymously at 18:33, Tuesday 27 January 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8781675.

In middle of road opposite The Bay Tree. Large pothole making its latest re-appearance. This has been repaired so many times just to come back again. Can’t it be done properly so it doesn’t need to be re-visited?

Council ref: ENQ261078056

  • This is, unsurprisingly, getting worse by the day and will now require even more extensive repair. Based on the update on 9th Feb, the area specified will no way be enough. because no one has bothered to do anything about it in time.

  • Despite an update from OCC over 6 weeks ago, and the initial reports over TWO MONTHS ago, this hole in the role is now dangerous and now doubt costing a fortune in tyre and wheel repairs

  • Taken on Sunday 29th March. Still no action taken

  • On 21st January OCC closed another FMS incident saying it was scheduled to be fixed. As the period for fixing this has been exceeded significantly, repair costs, damage, and injury are the liability of OCC

  • New photo taken this morning. It's the 20th April 2026 and this has still not been fixed.

Posted by Mike Patrick at 11:59, Monday 20 April 2026

  • This has had some hardcore dropped in it which, whilst possibly well-intentioned, (and if done by OCC's contractors no-doubt trying to reduce their own liability for injury and damage without actually fixing it, which does not hold water (unlike the giant pothole)) is now kicking up into the road. So now there not only is a massive hole, but rocks over the road too posing further risk to pedestrians and vehicles.
