Road surrounding manhole deteriorating into worse hazard

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8773972.

This area has had issues for years with the sunken manhole and surrounding area breaking up with water leaking from it. It was sorted at some point but the same issue appears to have cropped up again. Unfortunately it's unavoidable as it's right on the corner and avoiding it would mean going in the opposite lane while going round the blind corner.

The underlying issue of the water/drainage needs investigating and fixing to avoid the manhole and surrounding area sinking and breaking up

  • Just hit this pot hole this afternoon hopefully Done no damage to my suspension Just do your job and fix it.

  • As has been mentioned - the only way to avoid hitting this worsening defect is to swerve into oncoming traffic.

    This happened to me today - there will be a head on if not fixed.

    There are of course many other potholes that you are fixing - but this is a particularly dangerous one which will cause an accident before long.
