The centre of the road where the tarmac joins that was previously patched in 2025 now has a dozen craters that have opened up in the centre of the road along with severe surface cracking on the east bound carriageway. This might have been prevented by continuing the surface dressing/sealing done in summer 2025 that stopped just 50 yards away in Shellingford village that would have prevented all of this damage. Meanwhile the roadworks in Faringdon which have increased the traffic on this road 10 fold is making sure this collection of issues gets worse quicker now it is the unofficial deviation for the A420.
