Blocked Grids on Queens Drive causes continual stream of water

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 13:41, Sunday 25 January 2026

Sent to Liverpool City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8763255.

We experience a constant stream of water running down the left hand lane kerbside from further up by the Green and Broadgreen School. These pictures were taken on a dry day with a couple of Grids blocked on the road which I noticed from the Pedestrian Path alongside the School. They are blocked up with water sitting on top, one blocked with a blue liquid. This was happening even in the Summer, during rainfall it is worse causing a stream to run down. Continual Water ingress from blocked grids adding to road deterioration on this section of Highway. Requires attention as per the Highways Act of 1980.

  • 6th APRIL now and still left blocked up. First reported back in JANUARY. Grids now also blocked up with grass that was just mowed at The Green and twigs and privets from last month's Street Scene workers just using a leaf blower instead of just taking everything they'd cut away with them. Lots of dried grass now along the kerbside in the already blocked road grids, just to add to the problem. Is it any wonder that this left hand lane has been pothole patched numerous times, cracks in the road and deterioration, caused in part by a persisting stream of water due to road grids being completely blocked and left in this state.
