Waste attracting rats

Reported via mobile in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 12:39, Saturday 24 January 2026

Sent to Liverpool City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8757622.

Waste has accumulated in the alleyway and is attracting rats. People just throw their bin bags into the alley rather than put them in a proper purple bin. There are nappies, food waste and furniture dumped there and the rats are everywhere and are now coming into our yards and houses. The alley needs to be properly cleared as it’s a biohazard, but people need to be made aware (particularly on Wendover Avenue) of how to properly dispose of their rubbish and be assured that the bin men will take it if they put it in the proper bins, not in bags in the alley that are immediately ripped apart by rats.
