Manhole chamber blocked
Reported via mobile in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 13:45, Friday 23 January 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8751408.
This blocked manhole is causing water to flow between the two South Street junctions badly damaging the road surface. It appears that water from a ditch higher up Farthingstone Road and which runs into a drain 120 yards up is flowing out of the blocked manhole and down the road. The manhole chamber needs unblocking and probably root cutting. Reported via Weedon FLAG flood group.

Investigation: Ongoing (Work Completed), Defect Repair: Defect Found - Our team attended the site on 2 February 2026 and carried out an initial investigation. They cleared the manhole and used high‑pressure water jetting for approximately one metre up to a blockage. During this work, water was observed rising through the road surface and verge, which suggests there may be multiple breaks in the drainage system. The manhole was heavily surcharged, and the volume of water was causing noticeable damage to the carriageway. Due to the high water levels, it was not possible to complete a CCTV inspection at that time.
Arrangements will now be made for the team to return to site to carry out further investigations once conditions allowPosted by West Northamptonshire Council at 15:31, Friday 24 April 2026
