Unavoidable dangerous pothole on roundabout

Reported via iOS in the Pothole category anonymously at 16:52, Thursday 22 January 2026

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8745733.

I’ve been reporting erosion of the tarmac on this roundabout for around a year. At the time, the council chose not to take action, even though it would have been a simple repair.

Since then, the surface has continued to break up and has now formed a sharp pothole in the inner lane of the roundabout. This lane is unavoidable when using the roundabout correctly.

The pothole is holding water and has sharp edges that will damage tyres. The surrounding tarmac is crazed, cracked and actively breaking away. As vehicles drive over it and rain continues to collect, more material is being pulled away, meaning the hole is getting larger and more dangerous.

This has now become a clear hazard to motorists and will continue to worsen without repair. Immediate action is needed before vehicle damage or an accident occurs.
