Pothole approx 3ft by 2ft and over 1ft deep

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 16:31, Thursday 22 January 2026

Sent to Hampshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8745551.

Growing rapidly. Has punctured tyres of 3 cars recently (that's just the ones I know about). It's a narrow lane with passing places and this hole now extends into the main driving position. Made worse by cars using road as shortcut around nearby roadworks. Hole is often submerged so unfortunately people don't see it. Impossible to avoid if you don't know it's there. Traffic cone has also been run over due to how far the hole extends into the road. So bad now, apart from car damage it could easily cause a motorcyclist or cyclist to fall off. Urgent repair needed even if it's just temporary. More potholes along this route but not as bad

  • This pothole is only getting bigger yet another one up towards the Poulner end has been fixed despite appearing after this one. Because of the roadworks on the A338 the lane is much busier than normal and cars are being forced into the hole because it's a single track road with passing places at that point. Why was it not fixed when the other one was? I'm sure the council does not want to have to pay for all the damage that cars are getting. It needs to be a priority. If a motorbike goes in at night whilst it's hidden with rainwater they will be thrown off the bike

  • Due to the increased traffic some of which is unsuitable for this road, (some lorries) using this to avoid the roadworks on the nearby A338 this pothole is growing in size and depth on a daily basis. My friends keep telling me they see cars with punctures from it. The cone keeps most of the cars out but the lorries are to wide so they just drive over the cone and then once night falls people don't realize how deep the pothole is any drive into it as it's right by one of the passing places in this single track road. I realise main roads need priority but "main road" traffic is using this route and this hole is now very dangerous
