A number of potholes (range of depths from shallow to deep) across the road from the entrance to Hall Place to the entrance to Hall Place Stables

The number of potholes and their severity, in this section of Watery Lane, have been increasing through this winter. Some of the potholes have been there since winter 2024/25. Vehicles are unable to miss all potholes, if one is missed the vehicle enters others. The potholes are often hidden under water which is increasing the danger to cyclists and pedestrians. There is a footpath on Hall Place's side of the road but unfortunately it has a high curb at the end by Hall Place Stables which, to my knowledge, an elderly person (who is their 80's) is unable to step up because of its height so when they walk up/down Watery Lane they walk in the road through this area of potholes that extends to approximately 20 metres. Not possible to take photographs of the potholes as currently all under water.

Getting worse

I use this road regularly to get to work and am now reluctant to drive onto my employers property because of the severity of the craters in the road. Theyre deep, cover the entire width of the road and are quite capable of causing serious damage to a vehicle.
