I Hit this pothole at 7.45am yesterday Morning 22/01/2026 on the way to work, I use this road every day, pothole wasn't there the day before, must have opened up overnight. I now see the Police attended the scene the night before to help recover several cars that had hit the pothole. Why was this not sign posted or cordoned off & made safe in some way, extremely dangerous to road users. After I had hit the pothole, I managed to coast down to a carpark a little further down the road, as I parked up a lady followed me in to the car park she had also hit the same pothole Her front nearside tyre was blown, there was already another car parked that also had a damaged tyre and another car in the carpark across the road that also had a blown tyre. Whilst waiting for my car to be recovered I walked back to the scene of the pothole to take Photos only to discover another 2 cars parked both with damage to their tyres. My car had to be recovered, 2 blown tyres & 2 damaged alloys, Quotation for repair, £2300.

The pothole is almost entirely under water so is not visible (especially in the dark) and the sign that has been put out is not adequate and regularly blows over. I hit this pothole yesterday and it blew out one of my tyres.
