Drain at roadside has failed and rainwater is running at speed down embankment eroding the slope and flooding the footpath beside the pond and potentially carrying road contamination into the fresh water pond

Reported via mobile in the Blocked Drain category by Mark Edwards at 14:07, Wednesday 21 January 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8735941.

The water from the roadside blockage has been seeping down for a good few monty but has changed to a strong flow this morning 21st January at 11:00 am sending road run off water down the embankment flooding the footpath below and into the freshwater pond. Erosion and fracture of the embankment is a worry as is contamination from the road passing into the fresh water habitat of Keston Pond and the River Ravens Bourne catchment.
