Edge of road washed away

Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 09:12, Monday 19 January 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8717497.

This road is never properly maintained . The edges are being eroded as it receives a lot of water from the farms. It is a single track road after the village hall. around the village hall there is deterioration on the opposite side towards the village. The rest of the road is equally bad. The problem is that this road is often used to divert traffic when the other road to the village is closed. It is currently not fit for this purpose. Potholes and missing edges from start to end!

  • Okay, the second visitor to my house in seven days has found the potholes that are deteriorating rapidly. The district nurse last week and tonight the two care workers who help put my disabled husband to bed are now stranded due to a tyre ripping on the pothole. Chacombe is a very dangerous place to visit by car and still repairs are not done properly. Last weeks repairs are already breaking up! I have advised the care workers to sue the council for repair of their vehicle. I am happy to be a witness to this as I reported these defects last week. So many care workers , support staff and nurses visiting vulnerable people are suffering damage to their vehicles!
