Not enough parking spaces for residents.

Reported via mobile in the Car parks category anonymously at 11:22, Saturday 17 January 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8707641.

I am writing to formally bring to your attention a significant and growing issue regarding residential parking on Manor Road in Brackley. As you may be aware, the current infrastructure of our street does not provide sufficient space for the number of vehicles owned by local residents. This shortage has led to several ongoing concerns, including: Safety Hazards: Oversaturated street parking often obstructs the view of pedestrians and other motorists, creating potential risks for children and elderly residents. Resident Wellbeing: The daily struggle to find a space near one's home is causing unnecessary stress and friction within the local community. I would like to propose a potential solution that utilizes existing resources without the need for costly construction. Given that the Waitrose car park is located on the same street and remains significantly underutilised during overnight hours, I suggest that the Council enters a dialogue with the store management. The proposal would involve a permit-based scheme allowing residents to park their vehicles in the Waitrose car park during specific off-peak hours (for example, from 21:00 PM to 8:00 AM). This would immediately clear the street of excess vehicles, improving safety and traffic flow, while making use of an otherwise empty facility.
