Drain that was clean one month ago but Colvert downstream is still blocked

Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 19:52, Thursday 15 January 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8697213.

Every time it rains now after the drain was cleaned out the water runs down the ditch and into the drain and because the covert downstream is blocked it Fountains about 1 foot in the air as you can see in the photos. The drainage colvert which is 20 m long running to the open ditch is very badly blocked and needs to be cleaned out

  • Further update from yesterday's pictures and flooding situation onto the road please see new photo showing a hole into the ditch drain colvert which in total is about 50 m long between 2 open ditches and this hole (which is opposite 29 Wootton village on the east side of the road) as you can see in the picture which is square-ish when the ditch is in flood the water Fountains out and onto the road to such an extent that the road is like a stream as it was last night. This whole section needs to be dug out and replaced urgently, because with freezing conditions that will be an accident not sorted very quickly.
