Verges destroyed
Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:39, Thursday 15 January 2026
Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8693761.
The verges along the whole of this road have been trashed. All through December Volker Fitzpatrick were having hardcore stone removed from the field half way done this road. It's part of the Hornsea cable job. Rory J Holbrook were running the stone away in 8 wheeler trucks. Dozens of lorries a day were using this narrow road, driving onto the verges to pass each other. The verges have been completely trashed all the way along Great Melton Rd from the mini roundabout (crossroads) in Little Melton to Rectory Lane. In some places there is now a 2 foot gap between the edge of the road and where the verge is. Pot hole and big dips have been created all the way down the road.

The roads are worse now than they were before. Unsafe, a mess and completely unacceptable. Volker Fitzpatrick continue to trash the roads around this area using Rory J Holbrook 8 wheelers which have completely trashed everywhere. I've had no update and nothing has been done. So disappointing.

PLEASE HELP! If this was Lincolnshire, then Lincolnshire County Council would now be providing prompt, comprehensive, and publicly-available updates to this report, right here on the FixMyStreet website, for everybody to see. Unfortunately, Norfolk County Council don't do that (and they even try to discourage people from actually using FixMyStreet)! Please SIGN THE PETITITION, to urge Norfolk County Council to start collaborating with FixMyStreet, in the same way as Lincolnshire County Council is doing! Still no resolution. Disappointing to say the least. This was originally reported mid December
