Flooding causing ice on road

Reported via mobile in the Flooding on Road category by David Harding at 12:41, Saturday 10 January 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8661586.

The perennial problem with drain outside The Vines pub has yet again caused a flood half way across the road. The spray from this is freezing over the whole road causing a large patch of ice. As there isn't a pavement here it means all pedestrians have to walk on the ice in the road which is extremely dangerous. This is an ongoing issue which is not fixed by cleaning the drains. It floods every time it rains even immediately after the drains have been emptied. Also one of the drains has collapsed causing a large pothole but this has been reported years ago but nothing has been done about it.

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 12:42, Saturday 10 January 2026

  • I think the flood may have been cleared yesterday but as it rained last night the road is flooded again. THE DRAIN IS DAMAGED AND BLOCKED PERMANENTLY UNDER GROUND.
