Food Waste Bin needs emptying

Reported via desktop in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 10:33, Thursday 8 January 2026

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8645876.

The Food Waste bin located on the pavement in University Avenue (on the edge of Ashton Road car park G12 8SP) has been full-to-bursting since the end of 2025. Could you please empty it as soon as possible. Submitted via the Council's website on 04 January, it's now 08 January and still not attended.

Every year at xmas it's the same problem with these bins. Why can't you make better provision for more collections in December run-up to xmas and then again in January? This is a private company working for the council as I understand. How much does it cost the people of Glasgow to live in filth like this? Stuff like this is why we have a rat problem in the city.
