Sheet ice the whole length of Jan gate avenue (pavement not much better)

Just cycled 14 miles to work. Ham gate avenue was the only stretch of sheet ice I came across. I got off and walked instead because pavement also icy.
This is a major cycle commute route and kids use it getting to school.
